Sorry for the hiatus!

I've been rather busy trying to write a report for university, and caring for a multitude of birds these last couple of weeks. Sorry for the delay it's all rather crazy here!

We recently went to Fairbanks to release an eagle whom the tribal elders named Semper Fi. After injuring Dave with his massive talons when he was transferred to a kennel for the drive to Fairbanks, he gracefully took to the air on Sunday and soared above the powwow. It was brilliant!

We also got the chance to visit Creamers Field where the sandhill cranes were out in force, bobbing up and down looking for tasty morsels in the long grass.

It was a hot day so this little swallow decided to take a rest on the fence! He was up an away flying when other swallows  tried to steal his spot.

We also had the great privilege to meet Earl the Great Grey Owl, cared for by our host Nancy.

All in all it was a fantastic weekend, and the drive up was beautiful. Apologies for the scattered updates these next couple of weeks, internship reports don't write themselves... sadly!
